My Family and Our Summer

Hey Everyone,

Summer time in the Parson’s house is a tad wild with three kiddos running around to be entertained. We have Caleb who is 10, Addison who is 9, and John David who is 7. They get along great and are the best of friends- until they are not haha! We love having a blended family even with the challenges that come with it. At the end of the day we are family and we will always be there for each other. In our blended home we have a week on/week off schedule. Remember how I mentioned challenges earlier? This has been a recent adjustment for all three of us to be on the same schedule, it’s been beautiful chaos. I don’t even know where to begin to explain it but here we are, living it

Our family!

This summer we have so many fun and big moments upcoming. We have overnight church camp for an entire week, where my youngest will be away for the 1st time ever with no parent. He is so excited but my mama heart is nervous for him. I try to remind myself that his siblings will be there and I know I can always count on them to look out him. We also got passes to Frontier City and Hurricane Harbor. We have been to both once and planning the next trip soon already! We are determined to get our money’s worth on those passes for sure. The kids just love the water parks and rides, and we love how tired they are after! We also frequent the neighborhood pool and the kids love “night swimming” after dinner. They always beg us to go swimming and honestly it’s my favorite time to go as well. It’s always less crowded, the sun is setting so it's less hot. Luckily our neighborhood has a ton of kids and I also watch a few of them. They all love hanging out with them and it gives Addison a girl her age to hang out with other than her brothers.

I know what you’re thinking, “Brittney how are you managing all this plus your career?”, good question. I work my schedule around the weeks I have the kids and I find pockets in the day to answer emails, market and edit! MiMi & Papa love to take the kids one day on the week and go do some fun thinkings around Oklahoma. Last Week they took the kids to the science museum and they have a 4D movie planned for the next week. The week where the kids are at their other parent’s home I open up my schedule full to all the sessions and edit in the pockets of shooting sessions!

It’s been an adjustment but I am so thankful to have a career that I love, I can work from home and spend time with the kids. A huge thank you to my clients that are the ones that are giving me this opportunity to pursue my dream. I can’t imagine my life any other way and everyday I wake up wanting to pinch myself.
